ETC’s Biomedical Systems Announces the Sale of a BARA-MED® Monoplace Hyperbaric Chamber for Placement in Vietnam

Southampton, PA, August 10, 2010 — Environmental Tectonics Corporations (OTC Bulletin Board: ETCC) (“ETC” or the “Company”) Biomedical Systems Group today announced the sale of a BARA-MED® Monoplace Hyperbaric Chamber to Nhat Nam Medical Equipment Co., LTD, a medical supplier in Hanoi, Vietnam. BARA-MED® will be integrated into a clinical management program and provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Eric Sprague, Director of Asia Sales, stated, “This sale comes as a direct result of the efforts made by our sales and support group in S.E. Asia. We have technical support available in several S.E. Asian countries. The development and expansion of our presence in overseas markets has always been a focus for ETC.” Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a technique of administering 100% oxygen at greater than one atmospheric (ATA) pressure to a patient in order to improve or correct conditions. Providing oxygen in a pressurized chamber can deliver 10-15 times more oxygen than if delivered at sea level or at normal atmospheric levels. HBOT is used to promote and support healing in the management of conditions in which oxygen transport to the tissues has been disrupted by traumatic injury, infection, inflammation, or edema. HBOT is used to complement conventional therapies and treatments.

Every monoplace hyperbaric chamber manufactured by ETC Biomedical Systems contains a fourth generation, automated control system called O.S.C.A.R. ™, (Operating System for Control And Recordkeeping). Among its many features, O.S.C.A.R.™ includes a patient friendly pressure-change technology known as SMOOTH-RIDE™. SMOOTH-RIDE™ reduces the risk of complications due to middle ear and sinus barotraumas during compression. During decompression, SMOOTH-RIDE™ reduces the risk of air trapping in cases of potential obstructive or restrictive pulmonary conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and emphysema. SMOOTH-RIDE™ achieves these important risk reductions without having to increase the times of the pressure changes
