ETC Simulation Contracted by Netherlands Institute for Safety to Expand Their Existing ADMS Training System

Southampton, PA, USA, August 15, 2012 – Environmental Tectonics Corporation’s (“ETC” or the “Company”) Simulation Division, located in Orlando, FL has been contracted by the Netherlands Institute for Safety (“NIFV”) for the expansion of their existing ADMS Training Systems.

The interactive virtual reality training system will now include a Countryside environment in which to train for emergencies and disasters that occur in rural areas. The impressive 20 km² Countryside database includes a highway with an underground road tunnel, country roads, flyovers, a railway, canals, lakes, farms, and a wildland area. Instructors will be able to construct unlimited incident command training scenarios by placing SmartModels™ into the three dimensional environment, including vehicles, train cars and additional threats.

“We are looking forward to the delivery of this new countryside area.” stated Eric Didderen, Senior Trainer and Adviser at NIFV. “The quality of ETC’s virtual reality environments is superb. By adding this new environment we will have over 50 km² of terrain available with a large variety of infrastructure, and the additional SmartModels will allow creative scenario generation. Our students and clients can practice handling major road traffic accidents and train derailments, but also train for typical rural area type of emergencies.”

NIFV is a national center of expertise with four Academies, including the Fire Academy, Academy for Crisis Management, Emergency Medical Service Academy and Academy for Leadership. Since 2001, NIFV has trained thousands of emergency responders and crisis management teams using ADMS technology.

“We are very happy with the ongoing trust of NIFV in our simulation capabilities.” said Marco van Wijngaarden, President of ETC Simulation “Our goal is to exceed NIFV’s expectations again and provide NIFV and their clients with a highly immersive virtual reality simulation in which to train their students.”

About ADMS
ADMS™ is a high-fidelity Virtual Reality Simulation Training Stage that houses multiple products including Incident Command training from technical to strategic level (ADMS-Command), driver training and vehicle operation (ADMS-ARFF and ADMS-Drive) and multiple level police coordination for crowd management and riot control (ADMS-Control). ETC’s signature technology blends physics-based simulation, embedded artificial intelligence, accurate animations, photo-realistic graphics, ambient sounds, vehicle controls, and motion platforms to totally immerse trainees in the exercise. ADMS enables first responders and emergency managers to prepare at all levels of response in a safe, economical and environmentally-conscious way.
