ETC Simulation Awarded Contract by Rosenbauer International AG to Deliver Panther ARFF Vehicle Simulator

Southampton, PA, USA, June 18, 2012 – Environmental Tectonics Corporation’s (“ETC” or the “Company”) Simulation Division, located in Orlando, FL, has contracted with Rosenbauer International AG (“Rosenbauer”) for the delivery of a vehicle simulator for the renowned Panther Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (“ARFF”) vehicle. The full cabin simulator will be installed at the Rosenbauer Headquarters in Austria.

The simulator will be used to train vehicle firefighting operating skills, and also tactical positioning of the vehicle in case of aircraft emergencies. The vehicle cabin will have the same layout as the real Panther, including a functional dashboard and center console with controls for the bumper turret and Stinger High Reach Extendable Turret (“HRET”), or RM60 Roof Turret. This allows vehicle crew to practice skills and build confidence to safely and effectively use the vehicle in any condition. With the included Scenario Generator, training staff can create new training situations, from novice to expert level, for a variety of aircraft types.

Lori Bozenbury, Director of Business Development of ETC Simulation, stated, “We are proud to once again deliver an effective training solution, using our proven ADMS True Simulation technology, to Rosenbauer. The simulator will provide essential and safe training for airport fire and rescue vehicle operators, while saving money and resources normally spent in live training. It is a green airport solution, as no pollution by agents and live burns is involved. With ADMS, even the finest details of the vehicle capabilities and training scenarios are incorporated. For example, the turret and HRET control dynamics and fire fighting capabilities are accurate, including the foam extinguishment of large fuel spill fires. This level of fidelity is critical to the direct transfer of simulation-acquired experience to real-world conditions.”

About ADMS
ADMS(TM) is a high-fidelity Virtual Reality Simulation Training Stage that houses multiple products including Incident Command training from technical to strategic level (ADMS-Command), emergency response and force protection specific to a military environment (ADMS-Airbase), driver training and vehicle operation (ADMS-ARFF and ADMS-Drive) and multiple level police coordination for crowd management and riot control (ADMS-Control). ETC’s signature True Simulation technology blends physics-based simulation, embedded artificial intelligence, accurate animations, photo-realistic graphics, ambient sounds, vehicle controls, and motion platforms to totally immerse trainees in the exercise. ADMS enables first responders and emergency managers to prepare at all levels of response in a safe, economical and environmentally-conscious way.
