Southampton, PA: July 18, 2007 - Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (AMEX:ETC) ("ETC" or the "Company") Environmental Testing and Simulations Systems Division today announced receipt of a contract from Alarko-Carrier, Gebze-Kocaeli, Turkey. ETC will provide a Psychrometric Test Facility to be used to test the operating capacities of air-conditioners, heat pumps and rooftop air-handing units.
ETC has been designing and manufacturing testing and simulations systems for the automotive segment, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning and allied industries for nearly four decades. These include environmentally controlled chambers, psychrometric test rooms, A/C Systems test benches and calorimeters, component and full vehicle development wind tunnels, engine development systems and emissions testing systems.
A psychrometric test facility is used to measure and evaluate thermal performance of air conditioning, heat pump and hydronic systems. It simulates both indoor and outdoor conditions, thus generating thermal loading conditions typically experienced in actual operation. The test unit leaving temperature and humidity conditions and airflow are measured. The psychrometric test room creates very precise environmental and refrigeration conditions, thereby generating extremely accurate and repeatable results. The performance of product tests under such realistically simulated conditions allows test engineers to acquire accurate thermal performance data, which greatly improves performance and reliability, and can reduce manufacturing cost, as well.
Theresa Wagner, ETC's Environmental Systems Division Sales & Marketing Manager, stated, "ETC is committed to providing our customers with quality test equipment to help them certify and validate their air-conditioning products."
