Environmental Tectonics Corporation Receives 2009 NTSA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Modeling & Simulation

Southampton, PA, February 4, 2009 - Environmental Tectonics Corporation (AMEX: ETC) ("ETC" or the "Company") has been presented with an award for "Outstanding Achievement in Modeling and Simulation" at the 2009 National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Leadership Summit in Norfolk, VA. ETC was recognized in the Training Category for their development of the ATFS-400™ "Phoenix" motion platform, a new technology in high-performance aircraft simulation that provides the next level of realism for the training of air combat pilots.

The NTSA Modeling and Simulation Award was presented to ETC by Rear Admiral Fred Lewis, USN (Ret), President of the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) and Congressman Randy Forbes (VA, 4th District), Founder and Chair of the Congressional M&S Caucus. Several other members of the Congressional M&S Caucus actively participated, and more than 300 delegates from government, industry and academia were in attendance during the event.

The NTSA stated that, "ETC Simulation is recognized for developing the ATFS-400™ "Phoenix," a first of its kind, high fidelity, interactive, reconfigurable, networkable, tactical flight simulator system integrated into a state-of-the-art, high performance "flyable" and high sustainable "G" motion system. This actual "G" loading environment allows the ATFS-400™ to replicate actual aircraft flight dynamics providing both the virtual cues and physical stresses experienced during combat maneuvers correlated to the specific tactical aircraft being simulated."

William F. Mitchell, President and Chairman of ETC, stated, "ETC is much honored to receive the 2009 NTSA Modeling & Simulation Award. We thank those that recognize the continual advancements that ETC has made in our flight training technology and training systems to improve pilot readiness, reduce airframe hours, residential noise, and cost, while producing an environmentally conscious, yet highly realistic means of training."

ETC has been developing flight training system technology for 40 years. The ATFS-400™ "Phoenix" motion platform is located at their full service National Aerospace Training and Research Center (NASTAR Center) located in Southampton, Pennsylvania.

ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems (aeromedical, tactical combat and general), disaster management training systems and services, entertainment products, sterilizers (steam and gas), environmental testing products, hyperbaric chambers and related products for domestic and international customers.
