SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation (Amex: ETC) ("ETC" or the "Company") today announced the construction of ETC's Tactical Flight Simulation and Aviation Training and Research Center. The Center will open in January 2007 and will offer a complete range of aviation training and research support services.

The cornerstone of ETC's Tactical Flight Simulation and Aviation Training and Research Center is the ATFS-400B, Authentic Tactical Flight Simulator. The ATFS-400B is the latest generation of ETC Tactical Flight Simulators. It combines the latest available flight simulation technology to optimize flight fidelity. This technology includes high fidelity aircraft specific cockpits; offensive and defensive mission systems; realistic, wide field of view visual displays; and virtual battle space. Pilots will practice critical combat skills in a safe, controlled and economical environment with realism that is rivaled only by actually flying the aircraft.

Additionally, ETC's Tactical Flight Simulation and Aviation Training and Research Center will be a "one stop shopping experience" for world-class training and research support. It offers state-of-the-art equipment and professional instructors to train how to cope with the effects of
  • Altitude Exposure
  • High G Exposure
  • Spatial Disorientation
  • Aircraft Upsets and Recoveries
  • Night Vision and Night Vision Goggle Operations
  • Loss of Situational Awareness
ETC's Tactical Flight Simulation and Aviation Training and Research Center offers a wide range of curriculum and tailored training to serve the training and research needs of military aviation, civil aviation (general and commercial), and many public service organizations (police, border patrol, U.S. Coast Guard and search and rescue groups).

ETC also offers use of the sophisticated equipment in the Tactical Flight Simulation and Aviation Training and Research Center to support cutting edge research to solve the human factors problems associated with high performance aircraft flight.

According to William F. Mitchell, ETC's President and CEO, "ETC has been the world leader in aviation training for more than 35 years. This initiative positions ETC to provide training and research support services to military and civilian, organizations worldwide. ATFS-400 training provides hands-on air combat engagement experience for pilots and aircrews at 1/28th of the cost, 2 times more efficiently per tactical hour, and with 7 times greater access to training than actual airborne training."
