Southampton, PA: October 29, 2004-Environmental Tectonics Corporation ("ETC" or the "Company") (AMEX:ETC) today announced that its subsidiary, Entertainment Technology Corporation ("EnTCo") has established a Space Adventure Entertainment Product line.
Historically, space travel and the experience of being in space have been restricted to a select few. However, this paradigm is rapidly changing. Today, the space experience is available to all people who want to participate in the ultimate adventure. EnTCo 's new Space Adventure Entertainment Product line includes authentic, performance scaled options for space training, space experience, and ultimately space travel.
Estimates indicate that a significant number of people have high interest in space, but that not all of these people may be ready for space travel. To serve this market, EnTCo is now offering a product line to allow people to "earn their astronaut wings" without the rigors, risks, and expense of actual space travel. EnTCo's product line allows clients to experience real training scenarios and many of the rigors of space travel including re-entry G exposure, the effects of reduced atmospheric pressure, escape from a malfunctioning space vehicle, weightlessness, and reentry vehicle recovery. Additionally, patrons will be able to experience the takeoff and flight of a space vehicle to sub orbital flight and back in EnTCo's space mission simulator.
Commercial space travel is now a reality as evidenced by the recent success by Mr. Burt Rutan. SpaceShipOne successfully completed two sub orbital flights in less than two weeks, an accomplishment that won the Ansari X-Prize. Virgin Galactic is booking flights now and expects to service more than 3,000 space travelers within the next five years. Accordingly, those clients who want to extend their space experience to space tourism can be trained for actual space travel using ETC's Space Training product line.
These products include the:
- G-LAB Space Training System (STS)
- Hypobaric Space Environment Simulator (SES)
- HydroLAB
- GYROFLIGHT Space Mission Trainer (SMT)
- Ejection Seat Simulator (ESS)
- Water Survival Training System (WSTS)
The EnTCo Space Adventure Entertainment and the ETC Space Training product lines provide support for the gamut of space experience and provide all level solutions for those who want to experience the ultimate adventure into the next frontier…space.
The EnTCo Entertainment and ETC Space Training products and services are showcased at www.ETCSPACE.com.
ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
