Southampton, PA-October 13, 2004- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (AMEX: ETC) (the "Company") wholly owned subsidiary Entertainment Technology Corporation (EnTCo) is pleased to announce a new collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Marine Sanctuary Program (NMSP). The partnership, which will be formalized in a memorandum of understanding, will combine the NMSP's subject-matter-expertise and mission with EnTCo's education simulation technology. The goal is to combine the unique expertise of each organization to deliver an educational, family-oriented simulator exhibit that conveys the importance of the NMSP's mission.
David A. Mitchell, Director of Sales & Marketing for EnTCo, said "We are absolutely thrilled that the NMSP leadership recognizes the power of simulation and entertainment to convey important conservation messages. With our combined expertise, we will deliver a first of its kind educational exhibit."
Daniel J. Basta, NMSP Director, said, "National marine sanctuaries protect our nation's underwater treasures. Sanctuary waters encompass unique natural resources and historically significant shipwrecks and artifacts. In order to ensure the future protection of these wonderful places, we need to increase awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the marine environment. We believe a great way to accomplish this is by providing a fun, educational, and interactive experience that creates a long-lasting emotional connection to the oceans."
In Wild Earth, guests will discover the thrill and excitement of a Marine Adventure and marvel at the array of marine life and habitats that comprise the National Marine Sanctuary Program. The physically modeled animation offers a kaleidoscope of images and memories never to be forgotten. In EnTCo's simulator, two riders (a navigator and a photographer) sit securely in themed capsule to experience this fully interactive photo adventure. The simulator features 3 axes of motion (pitch, roll and lift) that provide a one-of-a-kind, physical, thrilling and educational experience at the navigator's control. In Wild Earth™, the riders are in full control, navigating the vehicle through the marine terrain on a quest for that "perfect picture". Their best pictures, as well as a picture of the riders, are woven into an article that is provided to them at the end of the ride experience.
