ENVIRONMENTAL TECTONICS CORPORATION - Press Release
ETC Announces Contract Award for Training System at BWI Airport
January 20, 2004
Southampton, PA: January 20, 2004- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's ("the Company") (AMEX:ETC) Simulation Division, located in Orlando, FL, has been selected by the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) to perform airport certification and emergency drill training at the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport.

This project will allow BWI to join a growing list of airports and users of the Company's Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMSTM) across the country, which now includes Chicago O'Hare International, Minneapolis St. Paul, Miami International, Honolulu International, Nashville and Orlando Sanford International. It is also envisioned by MAA that this project will form the basis for a long-term quarterly training program in future years, thus setting the standard for other airports to follow.

MAA conducts training for all BWI employees who must work in secure areas, and drive in the air operations areas, and those that are required to respond to emergency situations at the airport. MAA has chosen the ADMSTM system to streamline and enhance the training of these individuals. ETC's Simulation Division provides high fidelity airport incident management simulations to airports throughout the U.S. and abroad. Prior to the introduction of ADMSTM technology, training was only possible through mock drills and tabletop exercises which are time consuming to orchestrate, expensive to conduct and severely limited in content, due to safety concerns.

Shabbir Merchant, President of the Simulation Division, stated, "Since all airports across the country are required by Federal Regulations to conduct annual tabletop exercises to practice emergencies relating to security and safety, having the ability to streamline and enhance training - both at the same time - will not only save airports money but also fill the significant training gap that presently exists."

ETC designs, develops, installs, and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
