SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Environmental
Tectonics Corporation (Amex: ETC) has recently teamed with Link Engineering to
supply a number of low temperature high humidity Brake Dynamometer test
facilities to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in Detroit and Paris, France. These
units allow the customers to conduct breakaway tests on the brake systems
under freezing conditions. The units are specifically designed to allow the
brake linings to be rapidly cooled so that tests can be repeated rapidly
thereby increasing throughput. They will be used to investigate braking
performance and brake squeal under these particularly demanding climatic
conditions.
The conditioning units are being designed in close co-operation with Link
Engineering to ensure that the customer is provided with a truly integrated
package with a single operator interface.
This project is a fine example of the global coverage that ETC can offer
with the equipment being supplied to two continents.
Haroon Haider, Business Unit Manager for the Test and Simulation Systems
Group, said: "Our relationship with Link Engineering will help us both to
offer fully integrated packages around the world to brake system suppliers.
We are very excited by the prospect of developing this package further to
satisfy the ever increasing demands associated with safety and reliability of
the products that are customers are developing."
ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems,
public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and
environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and
simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international
customers. The environmental test and simulation division builds test
facilities for simulating, repeating and controlling climatic conditions for
the automotive, HVAC and other industries.
