Environmental Tectonics Corporation Achieves New ISO Certification
October 28, 2002
Southampton, PA: October 28, 2002- Environmental Tectonics Corporation (AMEX:ETC) today announced it had achieved certification to the new ISO 9000:2000 International Quality Management System.

A Quality Systems audit by independent registrar British Standards Institute (BSI), has recommended ETC for certification to the new ISO Standard. The transition and assessment to the new Standard was completed ahead of schedule and ahead of the December 15th, 2002 deadline, where all ISO 9000:1994 certificates become invalid.

"Certification of our Quality Management System to the new ISO 9000:2000 Standard is a reflection of the high standards maintained by everyone at ETC. Our high standards for Quality, provides a level of acceptability and confidence to our discriminating customers." says Glenn King, ETC's Director of Quality Assurance.

"The new ISO 9000:2000 Quality Standard is a process based approach, with less emphasis on procedures and more on the processes that are needed to satisfy customer requirements. The new Standard encompasses all the requirements of the previous ISO standards, with new requirements that help build our organization's management systems into a complete "business system" and not just a quality system, which it has been in the past. Our Quality Management System has been updated to reflect a more modern understanding of quality, including a new focus on customer satisfaction."
