SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Environmental Tectonics Corporation (Amex: ETC) announced today the Grand
Opening of the latest Flight Training Center in Southeast Asia. By
integrating several of the most technically advanced training devices under
one roof, Environmental Tectonics Corporation has provided the Royal Thailand
Air Force (RTAF) the resources to be at the top of the training field. ETC
was pleased to attend the Grand Opening ceremony of the RTAF Institute of
Aviation Medicine building.
The ETC-completed facility includes the 3rd generation GYROLAB GL-1500,
the world's most advanced state-of-the-art Spatial Orientation trainer, a
fully automated Night Vision and Night Vision Goggle Training system, an ASME
PVHO High Altitude Training Chamber, and a fully computerized state-of-the-art
BARA-MED® Clinical Hyperbaric Chamber.
Grand Opening celebration activities took place at the New Royal Thai Air
Force Institute of Aviation Medicine in Don Muang AFB, Bangkok. Many
prominent dignitaries attended this prestigious event, including the chairman
of the ceremony, Chief Pong Maneesin, and Dr. Subin Chewprecha, who presented
plaques to the senior commanders involved in the project, and Surgeon General
Auaychai.
ETC is proud to have been associated with the RTAF & RTN for over
15 years, having supplied Flight Simulators, Ejection Seat Trainers and,
recently, the very latest Training equipment.
The GYROLAB GL-1500 offers RTAF pilots a high fidelity dynamic training
environment comparable to that encountered during high performance flight.
The GL-1500 is configured to support both fixed wing and helicopter training.
The GL-1500 provides realistic, controlled and safe training for a wide
variety of pilot training needs including Spatial Disorientation, Situational
Awareness, Unusual Attitude Recovery, Stall and Spin Training, and Instrument
and Navigation Procedures.
ETC's Night Vision and Night Vision Goggle Training System (NVTS/NVGTS)
provides automated training for safe, effective night operations. The NVTS is
used to teach pilots to optimize their ability to see at night with their
unaided eyes. The NVGTS is used to teach pilots how to best use their Night
Vision Goggles to maximize their effectiveness and safety when flying.
ETC's High Altitude Training (Hypobaric) Chamber is a fully computerized
system to optimize training safety and efficiency. The RTAF hypobaric chamber
incorporates ETC's 30+ years of experience in design and manufacture and is
the first international hypobaric chamber that meets the demanding and latest
ASME Pressure Vessel for Human Occupancy code.
The multi-place Bara-Med® Hyperbaric Chamber provides the RTAF the emergency
capability to treat decompression sickness plus the capability to provide
Clinical hyperbaric Oxygen therapy for patients with dramatic results. The
chamber is fully computerized including a full medical monitoring and support
package and the capability to ventilate patients while under pressure.
Thailand will be the only country in Southeast Asia to have this unique
and combined training capability. ETC was proud to have been chosen to supply
this next-generation training center.
ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems,
public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and
environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and
simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international
customers.
