ENVIRONMENTAL TECTONICS CORPORATION ANNOUNCES AWARD OF A LETTER OF INTENT TO PURCHASE TWO LARGE STERILIZATION SYSTEMS
February 26, 2002
Southampton, PA. February 26, 2002: Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (AMEX:ETC) Sterilizer Division has been awarded a Letter of Intent to purchase two large sterilizer systems from a leading international arthroscopic surgical device manufacturer. The value is approximately $800,000.

Under the agreement, ETC will supply, install and commission two industrial 100% Ethylene Oxide Sterilization Systems, with the associated process controls, to be located at the clients proposed manufacturing expansion facility.

ETC was selected because of it's extensive experience in designing, manufacturing and installing large industrial 100% EtO Sterilization Systems utilized by major medical device manufacturers world wide. ETC offers consultantcy services to assist clients with facility design, construction and ancillary equipment requirements. These services enable a manufacturer with in house sterilization to optimize facility equipment capabilities and product throughput, thus maximizing return on investment.

The ETO Sterilization Systems utilize ETC's unique Hot Air Jacket Heating design. The Hot Air Jacket provides significant energy savings and virtually eliminates the need for costly maintenance and repairs associated with traditional water jacketed vessels, yet maintains superior heat distribution throughout the chamber. A custom-programmed "state of the art" Pro-Genesis® Series 2000 PC/PLC SCADA control system executes all process control and data retrieval. This advanced control application design utilizes fiber optics technology to safely access all required process and control data from the intrinsic area. This eliminates the need to install extensive and costly facility wiring and large, space consuming Barrier Boxes.

Michael W. Allen, V. P. of ETC's Biomedical Systems and Sterilizer Group, commented "We believe our ability and willingness to provide innovative sterilization solutions to our clients needs, provides an attractive alternative to costly facility equipment oversights. Our technical staff is constantly thinking "outside the box" for solutions to problems what others would simply not address. This, and other innovations are part of our continuing initiative to expand ETC's presence in the global pharmaceutical, research, and medical device markets."

ETC also designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
