ENVIRONMENTAL TECTONICS CORPORATION ANNOUNCES PUBLIC DEBUT OF GAT-II® TRAINER

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., July 24, 2001 /PR Newswire/ --Entertainment Tectonics Corporation, (Amex: ETC) announced today the public debut of the GAT-II® at EAA/OSHKOSH.

The GAT-II® will be available for public display for the first time at the EAA/OSHKOSH Fly-in Convention, held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, from July 24th to July 30th. The GAT-II will be exhibited at Display Hangar D, Booths 4022/4023.

The General Aviation community will get a chance to fly the GAT-II and experience for themselves the training benefits available in an affordable full motion based Flight Training Device.

Most affordable flight training devices have, until now, offered limited basic flight and instrument training, with a narrow field of view visual display, and without a motion platform to simulate realistic flight cues for the pilot. The GAT-II® faithfully supports VFR, IFR, as well as Spatial Disorientation (SD) training on a three-axis motion platform.

FAA statistics show that up to 17% of all General Aviation mishaps involve Spatial Disorientation and nine out of ten of those mishaps are fatal. The GAT-II® incorporates aviation safety into pilot training to prevent these tragic mishaps

The GAT-II® features a state-of-the-art visual and instrument navigation system mounted on a motion base, which provides roll, pitch, and yaw, motion from direct pilot input. The visual display offers a photo-realistic terrain database; selectable meteorological conditions and all FAA listed airports and navaids.

The GAT-II® family of training devices emulates the motion/flight characteristics of General Aviation aircraft, business aircraft, and helicopters.

ETC also designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
