SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation (Amex: ETC), today announced that Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), the 2000 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion, is now utilizing ETC's Conditioned Air Supply System (CAS(R)) for improved accuracy in their race car engine testing.
JGR's dedication to winning includes a commitment to finding the most advanced technology available to help improve the performance and durability of their racing engines. In their quest to attain superiority through the newest advances in engine testing equipment, JGR has forged a close partnership with ETC, the designers and manufacturers of the CAS. ETC's equipment will improve the accuracy and repeatability of JGR's engine testing, helping them to improve their competitiveness in NASCAR Winston Cup Racing.
The CAS provides psychometrically controlled air for improving the accuracy and repeatability of engine performance testing. Utilizing ETC's CAS unit and its Engine Pressure Control (EPC(TM)) device eliminates the adverse effects of variations in temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. The CAS is much more cost-effective than the traditional method of testing in a climate-controlled chamber. The CAS system also allows elimination of the variable of ambient weather from engine testing, thereby permitting refinement and improvement of engine performance under all types of conditions.
JGR's Head Engine Builder, Mark Conquist -- "2000 Engine Builder of the Year" -- states, "We are using the ETC CAS system to enhance our engine testing capability. In the ultra-competitive arena of Winston Cup Racing, we need technical partners like ETC and their CAS to help us improve the accuracy and repeatability of our engine testing."
ETC's Testing and Simulation Systems Division has been designing and manufacturing the most technologically advanced equipment available for Automotive, HVAC, Aeronautical and various other industries for over thirty years. ETC designs, installs and maintains aircrew-training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
